Torie and Scott were great to work with. Torie was one of those girls that we clicked with from the very beginning. They got married on a beautiful snowy February day at the beautiful Sequoia Restaurant on the riverfront in Georgetown. Torie wanted hints of blue to match the decor of the restaurant, but she also wanted hints of blush, silver and gold. Such a gorgeous color palette in my opinion. Because it was snowing mad hard that day, the band didn't actually make it to the ceremony or reception--so Torie and Scott rolled with the punches in a great way. After their big day, they headed to Iceland for their honeymoon. Such a rad couple!
This past April, I had the beautiful opportunity of doing the flowers for a wonderful couple who got married at the chapel at Georgetown University (where they met) and had their reception at the DAR right next to the White House. The photos were captured by the Incomparable Virgil Bunao, and I would say that the day was just perfect with all the cherry blossom details that were portrayed.
Congrats Mark + Liddy!
My favorite season, Spring, is here and I could not be more ecstatic! Wedding season is already off to a great start and all the beautiful blooms are coming. Easter is in 2 days, (best holiday candy ever), and below you will find some fun easter inspired arrangements. Some are completely literal with the eggs and the carrots, and others are a little more subtle. So go to the grocery store, grab some flowers, and get arranging! Photo Credit: Martha Stewart Weddings
I always get asked by brides if I only work with succulents because of the name of my business. While I love succulents, I wouldn't be a great floral designer if I only worked with one flower/plant. I did have one bride who only wanted succulents with minimal flowers in her bouquet. She wanted something sustainable that she could keep after her big day. Sure enough, after her wedding she sent me a picture of the succulents in bouquet that were not neatly and beautifully placed in a terrarium. Love me a good succulent bouquet!
